Mr Fogg’s Tavern
CityHood's Review
Concept
Hidden in plain sight, Mr Fogg’s provides a quirky hideaway from the tourist drag. The establishment is dedicated to fictional traveller Phileas Fogg, and the tavern is decorated with much eccentric aplomb. Hidden upstairs is Aunt Gertrude’s Salon; a secret cocktail lounge hosting more than 88 gins.
Drink & Food
Offering hearty British pies, traditional tavern fare and succulent Sunday roasts to rival home-cooking, Fogg’s food is simply good. The drinks are a bit more complex; expect a variety of innovative flavour mixes and cocktails strong in taste and substance.
We Love
The five acts of dramatically themed cocktails in the hidden cocktail salon, and the whimsical decorations (mind your head, there’s a boat suspended from the ceiling!)
Prix
Bar snacks and bites to eat start at £5, cocktails from £7
Conseils
– For a special afternoon tea that packs more of a punch, book Aunt Gertrude’s Tipsy Tea for fine food and frivolity. Or skip the food, and take a Gin Safari in the Parlour.
– Stop by between 4-6pm for discounted pre-Theatre tavern grub. Ask for Fanny’s Feast.
